Support AVA Cat Rescue

100% Volunteer Run & Donation Based Registered Charity

Action Volunteers for Animals (AVA) is an all-volunteer run charitable animal rescue dedicated to improving the lives of stray and feral animals. We have been a registered charity since 1981 and operate thanks to generous donations by individuals and pet charities.

AVA relies predominately on personal donations to pay for the costs of animal care, including veterinary expenses and food, as well as to support the Trap-Neuter-Return-Monitor (TNRM) program. 95% of the money we get through adoptions and donations goes towards care for the animal!

Donation and Fundraising Ideas: A cat food drive is a great alternative or addition to a traditional birthday party; create a birthday fundraiser on Facebook or direct donations to AVA lieu of gifts; run a bake, yard or online sale with proceeds going to the rescue; or hold a Kitten Shower to raise money during kitten season.  Your donation, no matter how big or small, really makes a difference!

Ways to Donate to AVA

Online through Canada Helps. A tax receipt is issued immediately and a reminder before tax season.

Directly to AVA via e-transfer to donations@avacats.org; it is registered for auto-deposit so a password is not required. Please include your full name, address, and email address in the Message line and AVA will issue a tax receipt for donations over $20.

By mail by downloading our donation form and mailing it to AVA with your cheque. Tax receipts are issued at the end of the year for all financial donations received.

Donate Your End-of-Life Vehicle: CharityCar, in conjunction with GreenVehicleDisposal accepts donations of old vehicles on behalf of registered charities and turns that old car into a tax deduction.

Donate High Need Items

  • From March to October we have a high need for kitten supplies: Kitten wet food, non-clumping (paper pellet) litter, and powdered formula (KMR).

  • In general, wet food, litter, scratching posts, cat condos are most-needed.

  • Contact us to find out what supplies are most needed and where they can be dropped off. Thank you for your support!
